"They have to weaken tensions."
The United States wants the parties to the Karabakh conflict to weaken tensions on the contact line in Karabakh conflict area and on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and urges them to observe ceasefire and achieve peaceful solution to the conflict through negotiations.
Oxu.Az reports citing Armenpress that the statement came from OSCE Minsk Group co-chair James Warlick.
"The United States has repeatedly urged the parties to take all measures to preserve ceasefire. The same was discussed during the recent meeting with both parties in the region. We hope that the parties will show restraint which will promote the final solution of the issues.
If the parties really want to settle through negotiation process, they have to reduce tensions both on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and on the contact line in the area of the Karabakh conflict", Warlick said.
