Azerbaijan enters top 5 list of LADA importers

Azerbaijan has entered the list of the top 5 importers of the Russian car LADA fo, said the President of the AvtoVAZ company Bo Andersson.

"Our cars have corresponded with all European standards since 1st July of this year. If we could get the best importers of the Renault-Nissan alliance, then LADA will sell well and our work would be easier. In addition, our products will sell to 15-20 countries, except Russia," Andersson mentioned.

Discussing the range of other possible importers of LADA cars, Andersson said that the company has received contracts on the supply of 70,000 cars to various countries in 2015.

Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Ukraine, and Germany are among the top 5 importers of LADAs for the end of this year.

Some importers have announced that as a result of recent economic instability, LADA imports will decrease.

However, Egypt has resumed supplies and intends to increase the purchase of the AvtoVAZ cars.

Andersson noted that the company sells its products to such countries as Lebanon, Syria, and has a strong market in Germany and South America.

Earlier, he announced that the company plans to double the company's exports to 100,000 cars.

However, the company has suspended deliveries to the EU due to unmet technical standards required by the European Union.

Azerbaijan imported 17,640 vehicles in the first half of 2015, showing a sharp decline for the same period of 2014, whereby 34,359 units were imported.

Among the total imports of the vehicles imported into the country for the first half of the year, 15,745 vehicles were made up of cars and motor vehicles.

The AvtoVAZ Company is one of the largest automobile producers in Eastern Europe. Currently, the enterprise produces about one million cars and car kits per year.

Moreover, 28 million LADA cars have been produced since 1970. The main products of the company are mass-market cars with price tag of 289,000-500,000 rubles (1 USD=57,0025 RUB).
