Dubai to host Investors’ summit in early 2016
United Arab Emirates will host two-day Investors’ Summit – Future Cities on May 4-5, 2016.
Meik Wiking, director of the Happiness Research Institute in Denmark will address the topic, ‘Creating an attractive vision for the future city – a Danish case study’ during the summit, which will be held in Dubai.
Wiking leads a think tank aiming to inform decision makers of the causes and effects of human happiness, make subjective well-being part of the public policy debate, and improve the quality of life for citizens across the world by partnering with cities and policy makers. He will take the audience through some of the aspects of citizen and community engagement. It is about governance and the need for urban leadership to encourage the citizens’ participation.
As investment in the property sector increases, so nature and the resources it can supply are placed under further stress. Planners and developers need not only to reduce the resource consumption of new and existing cities but at the same time to make them more resilient in the face of climate change, healthier, and more productive places to live and work. In short, they need to become sustainable.
The 3rd International Conference on Investment in Future Cities, which is expected to attract 150 participants, will explore and generate ideas for a consistent vision and a collaborative pathway leading to a lucrative return on the sustainable investment.
