During the first European Games to be held in Baku, the famous symbol of the city, funicular, can indeed become one more point of interest for tourists.
Baku funicular, which became operational in 1960, reopened after its renovation in 2012, thus becoming a famous place of interest. This is the major transportation link to travel from the city center to the Upland Park, which can be reached by funicular in 7-8 minutes.
Baku's Upland Park is the highest point in the Azerbaijani capital, opening a magnificent panoramic view of the city and its bay. it is located near the Cemetery of Martyrs, the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company and the parliament.

Sculpture of a fairy-tale hero fighting a dragon is set in the center of the fountain. The monument symbolizes the victory of good over evil. Flame Towers, one of the most popular buildings in Baku, a trio of distinctive sky scrapers, are hiding right behind the funicular.
Convenient funicular carriages allow passengers to see the panorama from the large windows. A breathtaking view of Baku Boulevard, so popular in the whole world, reflection of water in the beautiful Caspian Sea and the tip of newly restored Carpet Museum will excite the imagination with its majestic beauty.
